About Perennial Partners
Perennial Partners is a dynamic garden design collaborative rooted in an obsession with gardens, a passion for plants, people, and innovative hardscape design, founded by Lucy Hardiman. What began as a partnership of two has morphed over time into an award-winning practice of five eclectic, talented, innovative, funny, energetic garden design professionals. Our work model stems from my belief that the creative process is enhanced when there is a pool of ideas and skill sets from which to draw. Perennial Partners offers a diverse range of services from consultations to master plans, and we create gardens where aesthetics meld with function, comfort, aesthetics and sustainability.
As the principal and owner of Perennial Partners, Lucy Hardiman is the rainmaker and public persona of Perennial Partners. She relishes helping clients find the words to convey all the possibilities and nuances in the gardens they envision. She focuses on the “big picture” and the progression of architectural vernacular, neighborhood and regional influences in creating conceptual designs. Lucy is just as obsessed with plants as she was twenty years ago when she started her practice. Her wealth of horticultural and botanical knowledge is evident in her planting plans.
For 13 years Susan LaTourette has collaborated with Perennial Partners. Her hardscape designs are functional yet innovative and exciting. Inspirational and sustainable plant combinations are hallmarks of her four-season planting plans. She is highly accomplished at renovating old landscapes, giving them fresh, functional and updated looks.
Teresa Dennis, born overseas and widely traveled, brings broad strokes to her designs. Enthusiastically she helps clients create their own outdoor oasis, whether in a large country setting or a small urban back garden. With a background in the retail nursery business, she uses her vast botanical knowledge when creating customized planting plans.
Linda Hannan’s background in fine arts and interior design gives her a unique understanding of the spatial relationships that are so critical in today’s smaller residential gardens. In her designs she integrates the interior and exterior aspects of home and garden. Outdoor living rooms with compatible architectural elements are embellished with detailed textural plantings featuring drought tolerant and low maintenance plants. Travel and art continue to inspire her work.
